EmmaLee Monteiro is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA). She attended Rutgers University and earned her B.A. in Psychology and minored in Education. After graduating in 2015, Emma worked as a Behavioral Technician across eastern Pennsylvania.
In 2021, Emma graduated with her M.S. in Counselor Education with a dual specialization in Clinical Mental Health and Student Affairs and College Counseling. In her undergraduate studies, Emma worked as a Behavioral Assistant in a school tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) ranging ages 3 to 21 years old. In addition, she had the opportunity to get her first taste of counseling, as she interned and shadowed in individual sessions and co-led group therapy.
Upon graduating, Emma gained experience working with teenagers, young adults, and adults in individual and group therapy in-person and utilizing tele-mental health services.
In her undergraduate studies, Emma worked as a Behavioral Assistant in a school tailored to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Ranging from ages 3 to 21 years old. In addition, she had the opportunity to get her first taste of counseling, as she interned and shadowed in individual sessions and co-led group therapy. Upon graduating, Emma continued her work with the ASD community and utilized her skills in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) to work one-on-one with children in their homes, schools, and community settings.
In 2019, Emma began her Masters program at East Carolina University. She has since graduated from ECU, obtained her ASIST Suicide Training Certificate, and has had experience counseling clients of all ages. As a new clinician and provider at Reframe Counseling, PLLC, Emma is excited to continue her work and utilize her theoretical training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Strength-Based Approach, Narrative Therapy, and application of Gestalt techniques.
Emma has a strong interest in helping clients develop healthy and sustainable techniques to help them navigate life. She has been an outreach coordinator and mental health advocate and hopes to continue working to break the stigma of mental health and seeking therapeutic services across all populations.
