Eliza utilizes a therapeutic orientation that is rooted in Gestalt therapy, with heavy influences from Internal Family Systems, Multicultural, and Feminist theories. She approaches counseling through a holistic lens that emphasizes the interconnectedness of the physical, mental, and emotional processes influencing the overall health of the client. In session, Eliza gravitates towards use of “third wave” therapeutic techniques, including Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), in addition to Cognitive Behavioral and Reality therapies. The goal of each of these is to help the client gain a deep understanding of themselves through processing their past experiences and current circumstances, while developing alignment and awareness of the mind and body. These approaches are also beneficial in addressing a wide variety of somatic, mental, and emotional symptoms.

Hear From Eliza:
It is my belief that at the root of true therapeutic change, is a strong therapeutic bond. Counseling challenges each individual to process, think, and feel, deeply and intentionally; to do so effectively requires vulnerability, trust, and safety. My top priority with clients is always to first create an environment that is conducive to healing and growth, by building trust and rapport with one another. I feel that emphasizing the development of this partnership empowers clients, and is truly what allows the deeper therapeutic work to begin.
