Dakota Tuggle, MSW, LCSWA
Dakota is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) who has been working with individuals and families in various settings for the past 8 years. She received her bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies from UNC Charlotte and served two years with AmeriCorps upon graduating. During her time with AmeriCorps, she worked in schools as a tutor, mentor, and site coordinator for a literacy program. Dakota’s favorite part about serving was working with families in the community and being the person that students and parents could confide in and rely on.
Dakota went on to receive her master’s degree in Social Work from North Carolina Central University in hopes of continuing that same type of work with individuals and families. She completed two internships during the program where she was able to conduct individual and group therapy sessions and crisis counseling. She was employed as a graduate assistant for NCCU’s Collegiate Recovery Program where she focused on creating a safe space for students seeking recovery from addictions.
Before starting at Reframe Counseling Services, Dakota was a Medical Social Worker for the Public Health Department. While there, she was able to offer counseling sessions to patients in the clinic and decided to pursue therapy full time. Dakota has experience working with adults and adolescents individually as well as in group settings- tackling issues such as addiction, adjustment disorder, anxiety, behavioral issues, depression, family conflicts, relationships, PTSD and much more. Dakota uses multiple approaches in achieving client’s desired outcomes. She is culturally sensitive and aims to create a safe space for clients where she can assist them in attaining their idea of happiness and reaching their goals.
